In January 2025, Kylie Goodman was awarded the 2024 Youth Volunteer of the Year Award at the Annual Michigan Association of Fair and Exhibitions convention in Grand Rapids. Kylie was very deserving of this award. Over the years, she has helped in many ways to improve the Chippewa County Fair.

In 2024, she became President of the Jr. Fair Board. She was also crowned Miss Chippewa County Fair Queen.

Kyle helps out at our work bees held before and after the fair, helps with setting up show rings, stalls and anything else that needs to be done for the fair to take place.

She has spent many years showing market and breeding beef and hogs. Kylie is always helping out other exhibitors get their animal ready to be judge. She has also been known to help other exhibitors show their livestock. Kyle Goodman is one of those young people that is willing to step up and help when and wherever needed.

At the Annual Michigan Association of Fairs and Exhibitions convention, Lindsey Kronemeyer was awarded the 2024 Adult Volunteer of the Year Award. This award is given to individuals that give of their time to help wherever needed to make sure the air is a great success. Lindsey is in charge of our Agricultural Olympics, where youth exhibitors work as teams doing jobs that are required to be done on the farm.

She also takes care of our Aging Out awards given each year to those exhibitors that area completing their last showing their livestock in the youth departments.

Lindsey is also in charge of the Exhibitor Dance, that is held after our market livestock sale on Saturday night of the fair.

Lindsey is one of those young people that came back to help after finishing her higher education. We appreciate all she does for the youth of the Chippewa County Fair.

At the 2025 Michigan Association of Fairs and Exhibitions convention, Andy Thompson was awarded the 2024 Heritage Award for his many years of service to the fair and our community.

Andy became a member of the Chippewa County Fair in 1990 and still sits on the board today. Andy stepped up in 2018 and became the manager of the Chippewa County Fair when there was no one else willing to take on the job. He held this position for many years, just stepping down in 2024, but you could still fine him there at the fair helping out the person that decided to give the job a try. Andy has done the announcing of our horse and pony pulls for many years. When we had harness horse races he announced for those also. He helps with our building projects and sits on many of our committees.

Andy is an active member of the EUP Antique Equipment Association, Habitat for Humanity and the Rudyard Lion's Club when he isn't helping out with the fair.

The Chippewa County Fair Board nominated Charlie Brown for the Michigan Association of Fairs and Exhibitions 2024 Hall of Fame Award.

Charlie became a member of the Chippewa County Fair Board in 1990.

He was superintendent of all the tractor pulls taking place during the fair each year. Along with being superintendent, he also participated in the pulls.

Charlie was very active in the fair's market livestock sales, not only by purchasing livestock for his own business, but by going out and finding businesses to purchase livestock through the sale. The walls at U.P. Tire has pictures of all the youth and their animals that he purchased over the years.

Charlie was also very active outside the fair that kept him very busy.

CHARLIE WILL BE SADLY MISSED, BUT NEVER FORGOTTEN
